Any clubs have a Biscay 36 (sloop or ketch) racing under PY? If so, what is a good guide as to a suitable PY rating to use as a basis on which to work? Thanks.

Don't think you need a PY number to go cruising - try Yachting World

Above RYA link of if not available the RYA will deffo help. Club handicaps don't just work on the boat herself, usually PY plus the number/experience of crew and skipper are taken into consideration and always success record for the same club!!! Are you looking to club race your boat?? If so, leave it up to the club they'll find out the yardstick and then change it according to experience/gear etc.

Had a feeling that the Biscay 36 is not too far away trom a W.Conway which rated 103 on the old books. conversion to new, times 94.61 would give approx figure for trial number about 975.
