Ive got my fuel tank out at the moment to replace my P bracket bolts.
The tank is 12 years old, powder coated aluminium. It's showing signs of crevice corrosion due to the fact that strips of self adhesive foam were stuck to the stringers for the tank to sit on.
Apparently the way to do it is to sikaflex some sort of plastic strip to the underside of the tank where the stringers are but I'm struggling a bit to find suppliers. Also I'm not sure what type of plastic to use. Some can't be bonded, some may have carbon content etc.
Ideally strips of 40-50mm x 5/6mm x maybe a metre long.
Anyone here involved with the plastics industry?
