PVC Inflateable.
In the heat the rubber mouldings securing the grab ropes on one of the tubes literally fell off.
Have 2 x half empty tins of the glue but no curing agent.
The price of a replacement 10ml bottle is not outrageous but by the time you add £8.00 for P&P ?
What is the curing agent ? and can it be purchased unbranded for sensible money
...or does one just bite the bullet.
A complete kit is not much more expensive.

I have the same issue but for hypalon adhesive. Being in Portugal makes it more difficult to find. Most things I can source either locally or from Spain, Italy, France etc but this is beating me.

The catalyst is usually an organic peroxide often Benzoyl peroxide but without knowledge of the polymer base that the "glue" is composed of you can't tell. I would have thought the ingredients should be listed on the containers.

Previous use ensures that anything printed on the tin or bottle disappears into a smeary mess.

If you mean the catalysed glue ( polymer) becomes a softened stick mess that indicates that the polymerisation was incomplete which could be for a number of reasons.

According to label, the Polymarine pvc adhesive curing agent contains ethyl acetate, diphenylmethane, disocyanate, isomers and homologues, all meaningless to me but no doubt someone here will know alternatives.

What I have found with previous dinghy is once fittings start falling off, regluing is only a temporary fix before they fall off again.

Bought a complete new PVC kit £19.95 from my local chandlery.
Bottle of catalyst inc P&P £13.95.
Preparing the PVC with the solvent cleaner is an important part of successfully gluing PVC.

Rubber components , namely your grab rope attachments, must be primed with Hypalon adhesive because the PVC adhesive does not stick to rubber.

You'll, therefore, also need the solvent cleaner ( which is a mixture of MEK and tetrahydrofuran, the latter being a solvent for PVC) and some Hypalon adhesive. Alternatively replace the rubber components with PVC ones.

See the full details of using the PVC adhesive here

Removed all the old original manufacturers adhesive which failed , by abrasion and then wiped with solvent cleaner, now just keeping my fingers crossed.
