Here in Cochin Marina there are just four sail boats. Consequently the community here is small but tight.

So when we hear that one of the skippers, travelling around India with his family, has just had a stroke and is now in intensive care, it has a big impact. It also puts the squabbling and quibbles both on this forum and elsewhere in life into perspective.

He appears to be making good progress and we wish our friend a speedy recovery.

Hi Esper

Best wishes to your friend - I once had to make use of India's healthcare system and despite all the dire warnings and horror stories, they were brilliant! I suspect that there is or at least was, a little more attention/care lavished on white-Europeans than the locals; a remnant of the Raj perhaps?

We're in Missalongi this winter and for the first time, there's nobody who's really annoying or a pain in the behind, in the past I've always found there's at least one; though Lesley suggests that this just means that this winter, 'the one' is me!

hmmm That explains why Im on the hammer head on the last pontoon in the furthest corner of the marina and why there are empty pontoons much closer to the entrance and toilet facilities .......... bugger I am that grumpy old man !

thought this xmas was a bit quiet too
