I have just been reading up on cleaning my Air Filters (they are the big spongey ones) The Volvo book says that I must clean them in Pure diesel.
Does this mean normal road diesel (which I thought had additives in it) or can I use Red Diesel? (which obviously has red dye in it)
I should probably know the answer to this, but I don't,,,So I am asking you!

I wonder if my Hoof Prints will work?

all the diesel does is disolve any greasy deposits, and "wet" the sponge so that impurities stick to it. so any diesel fuel oil would be fine, dont wash through with anything that'll make the sponge decompose, or the engine'll eat it.

actually i think you will find that they don't go backwards but it is a very lopsided moose as it walks on one side and then the other.

I don't think it's that lopsided. I reckon it's skipping.
 
In the Volvo Dealer I work for we wash them in warm soapy water, Fairy liquid or similar, dry them out and refit. regards Steve

Two blonds were walking through the woods and they came to some tracks. The first blond said "These look like deer tracks," and the other one said, "No, they look like moose tracks." They argued and argued for a while and they were still arguing when the train hit them.

Moose can be identified from other deer by their unique foot prints mainly due to the sheer size of the hooves (see below). Cows and young bulls leave pointier tracks and like other deer, the sharper end of the heart points in the direction of travel. Moose strides are usually around 30" to 40" long.

Spent some time in eastern Idaho in March 2002 tracking these ungainly and unpredictably dangerous animals thru the snow.
