First Winter of boating... She is still in the water and probably will be until 1st week of Jan after I take a refreshing xmas spin! Where can I get the greenhouse heaters you all speak about and how much should I expect to pay?

Should I put 1 or 2 in the engine bay and should I put 1 in the main cabin?

Mariah 268 single merc 5.7.

Cheers

Nick.

Most garden centres should have these heaters however I got mine from an electrical store near Reading. Try also Comet, Currys etc.

If it is of any use to you, my own personal use, on a Sealine F33 is to put one in the engine area and one in area between the fore and centre cabin. The heaters are about 2 ft long, mounted on flat boards and I use time switches to come on early evening and early morning for about 3 hours at a time. Be sure to allow ventilation as well.

Used them for several years and, touch wood, not problems yet. Would certainly recommend their use.

Elecrtical wholesalers are the best bet. Try City Elecric. Tube heaters from about 2ft upwards. About £14 from the cheapest places, might pay more. I have two in the engine room. Switch on about October till March.
