The LDNPA has struck again by denying boat hirers the opportunity to have Pumpabikes to hire out.
Their rationale was that people weren't fit enough to use them and would become a danger to themselves and need rescuing.

It was nothing to do with the fact that they can legally do 18mph on the lake then?

um, i spose fair enough really not to alow just heyho casual hire? The things don't float much etc with all attendant saftey issues so not like boats where peeps can sit and wait for safety boat? Course/tuition different matter

edit: perhaps that's the way around it? - to offer an"aquatic skills" course and erm use the pumpy bikes. But they aren't hiring the biks, just using them for free.

I think the hirers were hoping to rent them to people who had their own wetsuits and looked like they knew what was about to happen.
The LDNPA used the safety issue to avoid having people travelling about at 18 mph in what, to be fair, is a 6mph restricted area.
Nothing to stop people bringing their own of course.
