I'm looking into putting together a simple 12v manual watermaker that will ideally produce about 30 litres per hour and draw a maximum of 20 amps.

Can anybody recommend a high pressure pump, 12v motor and membrane that will meet these criteria?

I have two high quality laboratory RO water makers that I bought at an auction some years ago that I shall shortly be selling.
I think they are rated at 100 gpd but I'd need to confirm that.
They are 240V and I have no idea off hand what power rating the motor is but the whole rig is mounted on a backplate with all the valves and plumbing in place with unused cartridges.
If it is of any interest I could take some photos and you can make me an offer.

I used the Wanner Hydra-cell pump driven by a mains single phase motor.

This pump can be driven from you main diesel engine or possible a 12VDC motor but I think the power draw may be too much.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Roger - I had already downloaded your article from another website. Can't remember which website it was. The article is excellent and very useful.

This is the RO system I have, its 240V but would only require a 12V motor and solenoid to work on a boat or run it from an inverter
Any use for parts?
