We are thinking of leaving our yacht in Puerto Bahia, Dominican Republic. Has anyone in the forum recent experience of this marina and can they comment/give a recommendation please?

Looks very nice in the blurb and I know the area after spending time over there with work. I was in DR for 4.5 months a couple of years ago and it was amazing. I had no trouble and just found everyone very helpful and friendly. The authorities are very low paid and may expect some kind of bribes for bits and pieces like made up driving offences but if you give them £2 I found they all disappear. I would imagine that security will be very hot like any of the resorts and marinas there and so I doubt the boat would be at any risk.
