Pt 1 Registry

My Pt 1 Registry has just elapsed, and despite mails to mca There doesnt seem to be any system to re-new.

Has anybody re-newed theirs and can shed light on the process.

They normally send a renewal form. However ring them, they are really helpful on the phone - some of the nicest folks I've ever dealt with.

I renewed mine a while ago because of change of ownership.
The process was a headache, but this was due to change of ownership rather than re-registration.

I don't know how far you got but try Here and enter your registartion number.

Mine comes up as already registered, see what result you get.
Failing that, try ringing them

There can be an expensive problem with lapsed Part 1.

If the regisration lapses for more than 12 months, the boat must be remeasured by a measurer who is on an approved MCA list.

Might just be a problem with your location.

Also is nicely unreal, as the three measurements needed are LOA, max beam, and height of deckhead over cabin sole at the point of maximum beam.

The latter dimension is, however, to the position where the deckhead might have been, if the boat did not have a coachroof.

I.e. its about here in fresh air, maybe.

All dimensions are in feet as well.

This is, therefore, something that the European Commision should spend a few years and zillions of euro's pondering.
