Hi all,

What paint / varnish would you recommend to protect some Oak which will be permanently on deck?

Regards,
Darren.

Oak doesn't like staying varnished. The Dutch have great success with oak leeboard when they epoxy them first. If you do epoxy make sure you overcoat with a u/v resistant varnish. Epifanes is the best varnish in the world - just don't try and use it cold.
