Propspeed

Just had it done in September, boat comes out next week and so I'll post then how it went.

Didn't seem too expensive at £69 in a world where antifouling is £100 a tin and doesn't even work! I agree it seemed to good to be true but my main motivation in having it done was if it didn't work it was not much money wasted.

As previous posts will show, I'm deeply, deeply cynical about any AF paint, system, process etc, as I've yet to find one that is a tenth as good as the vendors claim.

Know what you mean about AF but I seem to have cracked that now. Using commercial stuff and it's cheaper than any chandlerobbery can sell me yot syuff for.
Do you have a drying mooring, mud berth or are you always afloat?

I have had this done, but only 2 months ago so too early to tell. There was a recent mobchat thread on this. Search poster Deleted User, in the last month, and it had propspeed in the title

i had this done and it worked well for a while. But i ruined next time out by blobbing antifoul paint on it which depite the hard surface - was a solvent for the propspeed.

So my message is that it might work, and if it does, next time out covr the props in poly bags before antifouling.

Thanks tcm.

It seems to me that the adverse reports are from guys in the Med. I am on the North Sea coast of the UK - a very different set of conditions for fouling I would have thought.

My information suggests that this is something that has worked in similar conditions to mine down in New Zealand, where even the fishing boats are using it (and we know these lads can't afford to throw their money around!).

I am inclined to give it a go as none of the usual suspects (Interenational, Blakes etc) seem to have anything that does what it says it should.

As we only get hauled once every two years it may be a problem but I can keep an eye on it in the meantime as I am a diver so have all the kit to pop down for a look.
