Thanks to all who gave advice on my last ( prop) question.
All has now been revealed and sorted, thanks to the most helpfull person I have ever spoke to over the phone, Will at Golden arrow marine, who helped to unravel my problem.
Thing is some previous owner had fitted the new perkins, and hurth box, but while doing so dident renew prop which was a L/H prop, instead he connected up the gearchange linkage at the box the wrong way round to give him a L/H output, which meant using the wrong ratio for forward motion.
I am now happy to order the prop recomended by Will, and since I am renewing the gear/ throttle lever anyway, will set it up the correct way for a r/h prop, and the correct ratio.
The prop will be a 13"x 8 pitch 3 blade, standard turbine.
Again thanks to all, Eamonn.
