propellor calculations

The PBO forum recent ran a thread on this subject and identified several sites with downloadable programs to perform the calculations. Unfortunately most of these seem to cater for sailing boats/other displacement craft. Does anyone know of any site where I can pick a program which would cover a semi-displacement motor boat? Grateful for any information.

ps prefer access to the software so I can run several iterations rather than just contacting prop suppliers.

Don't know of a site, but The Propeller Handbook by Dave Gerr (Nautical Books) might help. I know that there is a copy in Slough Public Library or, if you are in the Cruising Association try their library.

From talking to other owners, Poole Propellers seem very good, ask for Simon, he's the man for any calculations.

Many thanks for your input guys. I've downloaded the s/w from prop-repairs and its fine for basic calculations but unfortunately doesn't let you play with secondary parameters like DAR. Still its a start. Thanks again
