Propane threads

Anyone know the thread size and type on Calor Red propane regulators
Thanks Alex

Re: Propane threads

It is a left hand thread, any caravan shop will sell you the correct regulator. You should not attempt to fit anything else.

Re: Propane threads

Thanks Norman. Still need thread type and size for a reference. Don`t think I have a thread gauge to suit. It is for a bespoke fitting on something else.

Yes it's left hand thread, think its M20 but not sure. Try here they might be able to tell you.
Please nobody mention "you must get a CORGI preson to do any work" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I couldn't stand reading through all the threads again!!!

Re: Propane threads

I just found my thread guages. You are correct that it is 14TPI Whitworth form left hand thread. The nominal overall diameter is 0.825". It is actually 1/2" left hand BSP thread. (according to my engineers referece book which gives the above thread dimensions, Calor say 5/8" BSP) BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads are a bit of an odd man out as regards sizes, because they are named according to the pipe diameter that the fittings are for.
