Spent weekend on the club blocks in preparation for the trip to WID over Easter.
The port prop has been in terminal decline for about 3 years or so and was a bit of mess when finally removed.
A few pic here.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231885004572?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649Virtually no growth on the hull this year for some inexplicable reason.Quick washy off and away.
Did find the remains of packet of Oxcylic acid in my junk box and spent the time waiting for the tide to return, coating the hull.
Remarkable stuff, amazing to watch the scummy brown stains disappear before your very eyes.
No suprises on the weather for Easter. F 4-6 Friday and of course the same for Monday as well.

Ebay is your friend.Short Story.

The boat was berthed previously for a few years at a mooring where the damage was caused.
The prop was observed to be a bit "pink" when it was sent for repitching some time ago.
The cost of new Vetus unit was over £800 + vat and even an aftermarket version from a well known prop supplier amounted to £600 + VAT.
Neither by the way was the mega fancy nickel alloy job which cost considerably more.A intensive UK search produced nothing even close to my odd requirements.
A random search on Ebay produced a prop in the USA which came close.
A good quality four blade 22" x 18" was on offer in the Southern States.
Two weeny problems the distance and of course every thing was imperial.
Quick email to the seller, yes he would send it.
Prop was £75.00 and shipping about £80 to my door.
Ebay do everything when you click the mouse including ALL the taxes and paperwork.
Three weeks later prop arrives. The taper was altered (10:1) £20.00 and prop repitched to 16.5" £130.00.
The only problem when fitting was lining up the split pin hole, a quick go with the grinder to remove some of the prop nut soon cured that.
Problem sorted.

We were supposed to run to Chatham today oldgit (looks fine today) but the wind guru reports put us off the trip back up to WID on Friday, so stooped at Hampton court instead...

Shame...:(

We are also keeping an eye on this site specifically for Sea Reach.
In "theory" :) the wind should not be against the tide when we plan to b off Sheerness.
