Due to galvanic action, within 12 months, both my folding props are knackered. They are 15X9 engines have always revved freely to max revs. I have one 16X11, which will physically fit, so if that will work OK I would only have to buy one new prop, thereby saving approx£500.
Engines are Volvo 2002 on saildrives. I can’t make head nor tail of the prop calculator, so any advise would be helpful.

Is your new 16 x 11 a folding propeller as well? And the same number of blades?
If yes, then you are going up in diameter by an inch, and up in pitch by 2", hence it is possible that you will not be able to reach maximum revs.
But it is probably better to be 'over-propped' rather than 'under-propped'.
Have you established the cause of the galvanic action?

Yes the 16 X 11 is a new two blade folder. The cause of the galvanic action is the diabolical state of the marina electrics on my leg, which have been rewired since I've been in the yard and no they are not interested in my destroyed props.
I was hoping someone would come on and say they have a Volvo 2002 engine with a 16 X 11 prop, as if I go down that route and it's a disaster I'll have bought a wrong prop and have another crane out and in to pay for.
