Hi - In my Preparartion for the winter lift out which is a recommended antifoul / coating to use on the Props - Rudders and Shafts on a Targa 43 that works ?
When I first got the boat this year They are are bare but after sending a camera down obviously there is some growth on them.
As always many thanks for any advice given
Jon

This may be helpful Propeller antifouling with Velox

However, no.antifouling treatment works well everywhere. Velox is pretty good in the Mediterranean, where it was designed, but I read that in many UK locations, especially enclosed marinas, it is less successful. There may be better products for these locations.

I have copper plated a propeller for antifouling, with some success. Copper plating a propeller. This may be a step too far for you at present!

+ 1 for Velox in a tidal marina on the East Coast of the UK

Verlox on propellers. Normal antifoul on shafts (although shafts don't normally need it), P brackets and probably rudders depending on what they are made of.

Because in general fouling does not seem to stick so much to stainless. Have a look sround boats when they are out and see what others do. No problem with using AF but you may get adhesion problems. The reason for different paint on propellers is because of adhesion problems with stainless and bronze as Vyv explains. My propeller has a bronze hub and stainless blades. Photo shows finished product in Velox. preparation and primer is key to stand a chance of success with Velox (or any other paint on propellers). Here pyiinc.com/downloads/velox/velox-application-instructions.pdf is the Velox guidance although Hammerite primer is perhaps less fussy about the aggressive abrasion. Velox primer is a bit tricky to use according to many although I had no problems with it on a previous boat.
