Taken as a tip here, try lime scale remover. I bought some and read the instructions, apply, leave for 3 minutes and wipe clean, HA!

The tip for next year would be to keep applying the stuff for at least an hour. Yes the crud did soften but it took a while. Next year I will anti foul a bit and give the props a squirt, I will keep this up for a couple of hours.

I should have taken the advice to take a wire brush attached to the drill, this is in the plans for next year. Instead I used 400 wet and dry.

HCL is hard to buy now but most brick cleaners will have it listed in the small print. If no Hcl, then cleaner no good for cement ot limescale build, but you must take care if you're spinning wire brushes as the spray off will be a severe irritant. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Persanal Protective Equipment, essential!! (googles, gloves, coveralls etc.)

Better to brush on gently and let it fizz for a while, then wash off, then clean props as required.

Great feeling when it's all ready aint it? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well done, made a good job of the polishing too. Very smart /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Did you see the extra anodes I bolted on last year?

My prop anodes last only about 15 weeks. I can change them just by raising the legs but it is a fiddle. I tried bolting the block anodes to give me extra time but it didn't work.
These are from last year and hardly touched. All other anodes are well spent.
