Hi guys,
Having decided to buy a new prop for next season I'm now faced with choice of metal. What do the ghurus think? Is a stainless steel one worth the extra dosh? I have a single stern-drive Mercruiser 4.3l.
Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Unless you are going for one of these high5 props and really need as much thrust as poss i wouldnt bother, have had s/s props before and think they are overated personally.

Definitely, I wouldn't entertain an ally prop, much better acceleration out of the hole, better 'cornering' and usually better top speed, plus you will never wear it out. An ally prop on a sports boat is usually junk after 3 yrs. I ran a SS 5 blader on my boat for 8 yrs continously in the sea, and its still going 3 yrs after I sold the boat to someone else. Have fitted SS props to dozens of customers boats and all say the performance gains are worth it and none would go back to ally.
