Another quickie - last winter I lanolin'ed shaft and folding prop after polishing. Boat has just come out and in slings overnight.

There is some growth on both - previous boat had antifouled prop and saildrive (trilux).

Am loath to paint them on this boat - other suggestions or just accept Lanolin is never gonna solve it?

Thoughts please.

When my boat was being Coopercoated last month I was persuaded to try Propshield, having never used anything in the past. They showed me a prop on a mobo that was done a year previous and it was was still tacky with no growth on it. Just have to careful not to pressure wash it off. We shall see - it was expensive so better work.

I was advised a few years ago to use boot top antifoul on the prop. I cant remember what make I bought and have been using the same tin since with very good results. My prop remains clean where I use to get barnacles all over it. It doesn't contain copper so no danger of galvanic action. I'm on a drying mud mooring, but the prop is normally down in the mud when not afloat.
