this yard is quite young but is already enjoying a huge sucess thanks to the Sun Top 13.50 and the only 1 year old but beautiful Sea Top 13.90
what you think of there take for a bigger boats....

as usuall comments are welcome

Blu Martin!...
I got to know Franco when he built my first lake boat (he worked for another yard at that time).
And I was impressed by the amount of customisations he was able to arrange on such a small boat - swmbo still remembers the unbelievable selection of fabrics she was asked to choose from.
But I never met him again, after he established Blu Martin.
Very nice chap, though, and I guess he deserves to succeed, based on his previous work.

On a side note, did I miss your memo of what is in my view one of the most interesting new boats around, which I found in your blog?
The new toy of Luciano Benetton, now that is what I call a fine vessel!
Though his choice to christen her with the name of one of his products is disgusting, to say the least...

I agree with the name for the new Benetton Mondo, I think he followed a bit RC and his Baglietto for the name....

yeah Airon Marine are lovely finished boats and Blu Martin looks even better
they are doing an amazing job and have excellent results in a very fierce market in Italy between 12 - 14 metres boats
there latest 1390 Sea Top is a fantastic boat and one of the best looking sports cruisers out there at a very competitive price, I am very curius about the sea capabilty for the new BM

I agree with the name for the new Benetton Mondo

[/ QUOTE ]Huh? Aren't you possibly mixing that with the name of the builder?
The boat is actually named 'Tribù' - same as a low level perfume branded by Benetton... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

yes Mapis I know the know of the perfume I meant the Mondomarine owned by Benetenon name MY Tribu

you are pretty precise for an Italian /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

when I visit the Forum here I am usually full speed so if you misunderstood anything I give my apoligies /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

'salright, no need to apologize.
Hopefully also from my part, for being "precise for an Italian", whatever that means... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

so what Airon Marine you owned before the Azzurro Mapis

I always liked Airon Marine finish touches, exterior gel, ss railings and upholstery looks superb
but always haired some nagging on the rough sea performance being a little bumpy?
was a period where I was very close in purchasing the 388....

At that time, this one, but I used her just on the lake.
Afterwards, I moved to the 31' (not in their range anymore), which I did use in some rough stuff at sea.
She wasn't so bumpy, actually, but her rather narrow and fast hull required some speed to cruise properly.
Great fun from 22-24 kts all the way up to 40+, but a bit painful when sea conditions required lower speeds.
I guess you met Paolo, if you considered purchasing one of his boats?
He loves to deal personally with each and every potential customer...

never met Paolo but I know Maurizio his partner in the Blu Martin venture
I never pushed much in the purchase it was more a Summer dream when I was thinking of changing my Gobbi 27 Sport with an Ilver 39 Mirable or an Airon Marine 390 or something as I got confused
I was more interested for the Ilver of which I got close at the time in negotiating a well spec'd used 1993 model with only 400 hours
but the Airon Marine is lovely looking boat non the less may be for the most better then the Ilver

I am still surprised as today to the fact for Airon and also the new Blu Martin for not having so much success in the international market as they are so complete boats for the family

Re: new Azzurro 60 Open

I was onboard that boat in Marotta while they were completing the internal layouts.
They told me that she was commissioned by Berlusconi private pilot, who is a good customer of theirs and wanted something faster than their usual boats.
Rather original in her hull design, sort of semi-planing, inspired to military vessels, supposed to be more comfortable albeit not as fast as a normal planing hull.
They built just one of them afaik, understandably, just looking at the pics...
...though I must say that - if seen in flesh - she's not that bad.
The superstructure and the roll bar which were plain wrong, and the Lotus green (sort of) colour, those were the worst parts imho.
Can't comment on her performances - I never had the opportunity to speak with the owner.
Personally, the main thing I'd be worried about that boat is her structural integrity.
Keel, frame and planks were much lighter compared to what they normally use in trawlers (which on the other hand are probably a tad overbuilt, but that's rather an advantage than a concern, on displacement boats).
