Project Sealine 305 Statesman (with pics)

Tackled the front room this evening. Removed the old-style lining and did our best (without equipment) to clean the sidelining. Tomorrow we'll steam clean and scrub in the hope it takes the marks off. Not bad, though.

It's evident the windows are leaking, so the next dry day, those will be tackled.

Look at the mold we found in the presses!

nice and perfectly doable project,
good luck with it N !

Cheers, B.

I've left my friend to his own this evening - the carpet on the walls of the guest cabin need to be cleaned. Hopefully tomorrow the 2 bedrooms will be cleaned and dried out (dehumidifier in place for as long as needs be).

Once the engine / out-drive bits arrive, we can get back to real messing about!

We also measured the holes for the diesel tanks which we cut out, so some time during the week we'll get covers for those and then tap threads for screws to go in (with a thick gasket, of course).

I did the same on my 310 ambasador.mine were aluminium tanks..like yours I think..put rivets nut i think they are called..drill a hole..insert the think, and with a suitable tool like a big rivet gun you do the pull and you have a nice tread in the hole..I used one every almost 1 inch, and for a gasket I bought a tick rubber gasket that is suitable for diesel..even fumes,,and I used some sealer both sides and is perfect till now!

Can’t beat a good old Halfords Professional 200 piece tool set!

Think you are correct rivet nuts being the proper term, more commonly known as rivnuts if you are searching eBay/Amazon/online :encouragement:
