Hello All,

Well given that I am feeling better and am mobile again, as well as the allure of the sun. I decided to get out and have some light exercise to get the boat back on track for the new launch date of May.

So, first off I decided to try out fixing the coach roof. It had been damaged and I needed to fix the area then fill with gel coat sand, smooth then buff.

Here are the results (I think they are good*).

The damaged coach Roof.

After filling with gel coat, I moved onto trying out the rubbing compound. The boat is has bad oxidisation, I wanted to use the least abrasive compound that I thought would work, as a result I decided to go with "Farécla G3 Scratch Remover Liquid" here is the roof with the product going on.

15 mins later she looked like this

I then gave it all a clean with a damp cloth to remove dust etc. Moving onto applying the "Farécla G3 Resin Superwax" again 15 mins later she looked like this.

I must say it was a joy to work with and did all the hard work for me. The results are pretty impressive. And finally I smoothed out the gel coat, buffed the area and ended up with this

Tadaaa!!

Not bad for 2 hours works and it has also spurred me on to get on with the rest tomorrow. I have a few gel coat questions but will leave this for a different thread.

I hope you like the feedback, as a great deal of what I did today was for the most part through discussions with yourselves, so if you don't like it is your fault :)

Thanks Again

* I know the gel coat is not the same colour but I have gone for functional as apposed to aesthetics... (And it was far too hard to colour match). As well as the whole gel coat v paint scenario I am trying to hold on the gel until it is just ridiculous, in short be nice :)

Nice job!! You and I aspire to the same school of thinking with regard to aesthetics and functionality - with me the build/structure always comes before how it looks....

Looking forward to more posts....
