I have just spent a frustrating couple of hours, trying to get the drum of our Profurl headsail furler apart, so I can clean/replace the furling line.

I have the pdf so have the other bits off already.

The drum is held together by 4 x panhead bolts going into a captive nut set into the plastic drum.

The problem is that the last bolt will not come undone, as the captive 'nut' is just spinning in the hole. Seems to be a nylock, round one !!! in a round hole!!! (Lunatic design - might even be aluminium, with a stainless bolt in it - just looking for trouble)

So how to free it without doing serious damage to the plastic drum. (So cross, I nearly did this anyway!)

Ideas anyone?

Removing the screwhead would seem to be the answer but it is recessed so a long shot. I had a problem with a screw seized in the titanium metal furling body and I contacted the main uk dealer they sent the whole unit back to Profurl in France and a new part was supplied N/C retail cost £700 . This original unit was a couple of years old so I would contact the UK main dealer for advice before any attempt with a drill.

Maybe worth putting all the screws back in and tighten this could take pressure off the problem screw and it may undo it is always the last screw that jams.
