My Moody 33 has the original Proctor thro' the mast reefing system /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif and the gooseneck itself is knackered - can you still get spares?
Also the revolving ring at the end of the boom is worn almost halfway through where the shackles for the topping lift and the main sheet have been. Again - any replacements or can the 'alloy' be repaired by welding?
Should have added it is a "Though the Mast Roller Reefing" type gooseneck as fitted to many Moody & Westerly boats of that era.

The boom end fitting is repairable with a bit of ingenuity. I did it to mine.

First obtain two stainless thimbles (I can't remember the size.) Persuade each one into the enlarged hole but be careful not to cause too much stress (on the fitting, you will experience considerable stress.) Press out the fitting so that it locks in and squidge Plastic Padding metal filler into the space between thimble and fitting. When this has set, file off and tidy up.

I had the same problem - Proctor were taken over by Selden, local agents are Fox's but I had no luck with them. Tried Selden head office on the South coast but not even a reply, let alone a sorry but no!
In the end I bought a new boom kit Z Spars at Hadleigh and they will fabricate a new gooseneck for you. Gooseneck cost nearly as much as the boom though!
I still have the old boom with a good end fitting which you are welcome to.
