Problems at Wrabness

Wasn't an occupied boat boarded from a dory at Wrabness last year? Where are they starting from? Need to be fairly organised to get to boats there I would have thought.

I didn't hear of that incident - I assumed the break-ins were kids after booze (no luck in our hut, then) but the boat theft seems to be a different dimension. Could it have been a form of joy riding?

Edit - I've just re-read the report and seen that there were a lot of boat break-ins as well - I can't think that many boats had much of value to the opportunistic thief. Perhaps some of the items at the next nearby boat jumble would be of interest.

Has similarities to the incident on the Crouch last year involving our RIB

The scrotes were well organised and knew what they were after. They nicked our RIB, almost certainly after casing the possibilities earlier that day during the Fambridge River Festival then used it to break into a dozen or more boats upriver.

They chose one boat to stash the loot in and when they'd got a big enough haul started ferrying the stuff ashore which was when they were caught

Please excuse my humour on this very serious and sad subject. SWMBO is Russian and tells me that in Russia, when sensible people leave their cars they take the windscreen wipers off, and take them with them. Windscreen wipers are often stolen, but it does not matter as there are plenty of second hand ones in the market
