I am looking for a boat and would like to know I am not missing any. Apart from YBW what other sites are there?

Should give you a good start. You could always check out my link and see what you can buy for only £12,500! Class sailing in a classic boat.

I am also looking for a boat and have found the best source to be boats an outboards as they list the larger selection of "private ads" and you are therefor getting maximum boat for your money as oposed to paying commissions to brokers etc. Take this at face value as I have not yet made a purchase but apples for apples this is my honest appraisal.

boatsandoutboards is really good, however you can not define your search criteria which means you have to scroll past many boats which are not in your paticular market of interest to find the ones that you want. If only the people behind the site would introduce search criteria it would make a really good site even better.

boatshed is good as they have lots of pictures of used boats

Boatshed always overprice, that's why their adverts always say that an offer will be considered, hoping that the punter will make an offer of what the vendor really wants in the first place.

price is always tricky. One very sensible comment I heard recently is that its only when offers are made anyone really knows what the price will be at a given time. You could argue that boats for sale must be overpriced-or they wouldnt still be for sale. Of course, there are other factors, but clearly there are a hell of alot more boats for sale than people wanting to buy.

That would be a pretty unsuccessful strategy in general I think. Certainly when I was looking recently there were plenty of boats on Boatshed at the same price as they were advertised elsewhere. I ended up buying through Boatshed, their service was excellent and they couldn't have been more helpful.
