To those of you who gave me good advice in the past, thank you. I have now purchased my Sea Ray 420ac and will over the next few months sail her round to the Costa Del Sol from Croatia. Would anyone recommend a nice marina where there were perhaps locals who owned berths and rented them out. My friend had this many years ago and got a much better rate. Even if that’s not possible I would be grateful for any suggestions of a nice marina that still had some life to it in the winter months. Happy to leave Costa del Sol and move up the coast for the right place. Boat is 13.85 m x 4.3m. Thanks again to all who helped in the past. Can’t wait to take ownership around mid August. Thanks ????

One thing about both Estepona and Duquesa - I seem to recall that under the berth lease rules for subletting the lessor has to have an interest in the boat (ie be named on the resistration/insurance).

I prefer Duquesa.

I’ll check that out. Thanks ?

Would you have a recommendation for wintering in S Italy? Thanks for the advice.
Where the boat stops needing rare parts or expertise.
Or when the guys are finished with other booked in stuff eg pulling shafts changing seals .

See how far you get first .
Can you get it lifted and kinda checked over before embarking?
How many hrs , what motors , there SH , any weak points up dated eg failed engine anodes = leaky coolers the CAC backing water into a cylinder , rough seas stirring up clud in the tank(s) .Exhausts cracking , rudder hydraulics leaking , engine mounts sagging , shaft seal weeping too much , props out of balance , etc etc .

You could have en joyable holidays on the same boat just going 10 miles day tripping every day in a season from the marina you bought it from and put all that on a long to do list .
How ever a what is it 2000 m trip ? with all day continuous running and some bumpy sea Hmm !
