I bought a 1989 Pr 55 a year ago. Nice condition but some ??:s One is the stls steel window frames. Between the frames is coming up a white powder like stuff. Probably due to
some aluminium parts corroding I guess. Anyone dealt with this kind of problem? What actions did you take?

Oh yes

All the Princess owners I know, including me, have this problem (unusual feature!) the white stuff is in fact salt from the sea you know !!

I never found a cure but to keep the symptoms at bay use a warm solution of water and vinegar (sarsons) an egg cup full in a pint jug and using an old tooth brush clean the stuff off. The frames need a bit more effort I use a 3M scotch brite pad gently. I vacuum the salt up from the curtain under pelmet as well.

Doing this every month prevents any real build up which may undermine the rubber seal or stainless steel cappings.

There are so few decent 55's around I hope you have fun with it

Thanks for your advice. I'll try to use your recipe for cleaning. Still I wonder if you're entirely right abt. the stuff being salt. Seems to me it pushes up from beneath lifting the
seals at some spots. My windows are perfectly watertight though, so far!
