Hi everyone,

Lately i have been facing difficulties with the shower sliding glass, it's really difficult to slide it open or close, that only happened after the Teak shower floor was removed for some other maintenance and i think it was not installed back properly. I am trying to put the floor back in the correct place and see if that solve the issue.

Questions

1.can aby one identify the correct location for the lock in the Teak floor, i believe that it's supposed to holde the slide from moving while the boat is on the go and there is another stainless steel lock in the top just beside the rail (both are shown in the pictures)

2.i was thinking if it is possible to remove the glass slide and install a normal shower curtains. Which might use less space and easier to handle and maintain. (if pictures can be shared it will be helpful)

Best Regards

I had exactly the same problem with my sliding shower doors in the starboard head last year on my P45, they are relatively easy to dismantle though and to remove.

In the end, I removed them and placed them in our store. Bought a bendy curtain track which you can fit tight under the SS rail, so the SS pelmet conceals it, and installed a decent shower curtain - it works much better in that head.

I may re-fit the doors if ever I sold the boat but for now, in that head, which will mainly be used by guests it has worked really well.

I have kept the sliding door arrangement in the port head to the master cabin, which work well and fold better due to a different configuration.

Thanks

If there are any pictures for the current setup it would be really helpful ?

Hi I have the same in my P38, I lifted the little brackets up as they have an oblong slot, put a towel over the floor or block up th drain hole while you do it dont want to be searching for bits in the sump box!! if they go down that far !!
loosen off the domed nuts and I packed the bottom up a little loosed them off and re tightened them last year and are still ok working well do both sections it is tight when inside but it can be done its just awkward.

Yes they can be adjusted, I did that before removing my doors, I did so as I did not like the way they operated in that head. IIRC I did find the bracket at the bottom of doors had slightly bent when I removed them which probably exacerbate the problem. I fitted the curtain instead in that head, which guests find more easy to use. That said, when they are all working well, they look great..!
