Princess project 31 a long way from home

I delivered a boat from Phuket to Singapore for the Singapore boat show and did a double take when walking ashore. For one horrible moment I thought I'd taken a wrong bearing and somehow ended up back in England. Ok, weather aside I thought I'd ended up back in England

What a gorgeous sight to be welcomed with:

If anyone happens to be in Singapore and recognises me say hello, I'll be somewhere on the Princess South East Asia stand probably trying to stay cool on one of the boats !

As I understand it the Project 31 was in effect model number 1 when the company started in 1965.

To celebrate 50 years the factory bought a Project 31 and set about restoring it with a contemporary twist. They brought in so of the old employees, had current staff including apprentices work on it and also out-sourced jobs to suppliers.

The result is the boat you see in the photos. It was also on the London Boat show stand and the whole hospitality area was themed around the era.

We lived in Singapore for about a year back in the mid 90's, Sentosa has changed a lot since then. Hope you have a good time, one of our favourite places.
