The anchor relay saga continues! after a couple of emails from princess, we thought we'd located the Lofrans controlbox/relay, but it wasnt that simple!
I've checked thoroughly through the anchor locker, but the 3 x HT cables and 3 low amperage cables from the pulpit remote control unit route backwards through a tube on the starboard side, so there is no relay in the locker itself. I've searched the engine bay, the fuse board behind the mirror, and above the wooden panel over the right-hand bunk in the twin mid-ships cabin , I've also looked behind the switchpanel situated at the lower helm, and even in the large space behind the wheel on the flybridge. I've also tried to listen for the "click" from the relay in all these locations. Can anyone suggest any other locations I should search?

On my beneteau the relay was under one of the deck mounted foot/hand switches , I cant remember which one but when you look at the back of the switch you can see what looks like an old fashioned car starter solenoid.

I say was because, it stuck down and burnt out the motor and current carrying cables with mucho smoke. Lofrans now offer a solid state relay to be mounted elswhere.

hi, fwiw,
On my assumed factory fitted (Nimbus c.1993 as it has a Nimbus hand held unit) 'Lofrans' the relay is under the forward bunk according to the click I was chasing last week !
Seems they routed it and all the cables back from the anchor locker through two bulkheads.
Was this perhaps the recommended installation ?
