Princess 42 Flybridge sun pad seat inserts

I need help ??

I have two inserts that hold a back rest on the flybridge sun pad, the fixings are rotted out so I need to screw a new piece of hard to the underside of the GRP to support the fixings.

ideally i need a piece of wood approx 6" square and 1" thick preferably hard wood, but don't know where i could purchase this from, every where i try they say only deal in soft wood.

By the sound of it you just need an offcut from a mate. Hardwood, softwood, plywood are all ok - it's not a life or death component. It will be hard to buy this from a wood yard - like going into a sweetshop and asking for just one Malteser - so you're better finding an offcut lying around. I'll post you it if you want!
