There was a thread on here a few weeks back about someones toilet pumping out but not picking up any clean flushing water. It was suggested to prime the pump.

Several people reported the same problem.

Had a look at ours ,found the pipe that taskes flushing water from the pump to the bowl, pulled it off at the bowl end turned it so I could pour a jug of water in and its worked ever since.

Tried everything to try and prime ours last season - cooking oil, fill the bowl to the brim with water, fill the pipes - you name it! Turned out the seacock was damaged and wedged shut (the handle didn't do anything when you turned it!).

New seacock fitted over the winter and it works now! All those wasted hours staring into the toilet bowl ... oh well!
