I have to change the primary filter on my yacht as I am finding it difficult to get replacement filters and seal for the existing one. I have looked on this site http://www.ssldieselparts.co.uk/filter-assemblies-single-c-8.html
but am unsure as to the most suitable one. I think I would prefer one with a glass container.
I have read some of the posts about changing and resealing this type of filter but I have good access so don't see a problem. As the yacht is in Italy I cannot check the inlet pipe size but assume the fittings are 14mm as the yacht is a (french) Beneteau First 305.
Anybody done this or can give advice?.
Thank You

I have a sfa4 or 5 not sure how the ports are measured but my copper fuel lines are not as big as 14mm

Thanks for the info. They are the ones I thought I would purchase. The 14mm is the screw size not the pipe size. I think my pipes are 6mm.

Sounds about right, Like you I have good access to the filter and bowl. Never had any trouble replacing the filter. I shut the fuel off, place a container underneath, open the bleed valve and empty the filter and bowl then fit a new one.

+1

This year I started using an Asda plastic kitchen measuring jug (40p). Undo the centre bolt, drop everything into the jug then sort it out at leisure. Good handle and rigid shape so better than a jiffy bag etc. Highly recommended.
