A long way from my boat! :(

Had to do the trip today. Tried the SkyExpress service Preveza to Corfu. €55.03 one way. Flights every day except Mondays. Buy tickets online or from whomever is in the Swissport office at Preveza, they have an arrangement with SkyExpress.

Flight, in a twin turboprop Bae Jetsteam 41, took around 12 minutes wheels up to wheels down! Hand baggage is limited to 3kg, hold baggage ( in a belly pod ) 15kg. Ok if you are connecting to a sleazyjet flight out of Corfu and only taking a cabin bag. The aircraft had just the crew and 2 pax aboard and I reckon the drivers were riding the brakes all the way! :) I have never been on a commercial flight that used so little runway!

Landed at Corfu at 10:30 Sleazy desk closed at 11:00 for my flight with an 11:40 departure but as I was checked in online there was only security to clear. Corfu as usual had 1/2 dozen flights leaving in the morning so security backed up to outside the terminal but I made it to the gate well within time without queue jumping.

A hell of a lot more pleasant and convenient than car hire, taxis, busses and ferries to get from Preveza to Corfu! Even with 2 or 3 people it would be comparable in price to a taxi or one way car hire, ferries and airport transfer from the harbour to the airport.

I think Barbara will publish the exact timetables in The Ionian magazine and on the website.

Highly recommended!

On another front a new hotel has opened in Preveza town called 'The Captains House' a small, intimate restored building at the west end of town. A really high end master suite with balcony and several small suites and rooms at very agreeable prices. As a treat to swmbo at the end of a couple of weeks in the sun I think it will go down well!

Yes I used same a week ago for Corfu-Preveza, 55 euros appears to be the standard fare. There were just 3 of us on that one, a couple who's boat was in Cleopatra Yard & myself. They'd flown in the day before, stayed a night in Corfu Town & then on to their boat next day...
