I'm in SE England, roughly on the 986 mB isobar in the diagram. Current time is about 25 minutes after the time of the diagram's forecast. Current weather is moderate rain, with about a F3 wind. Not what I might expect from that forecast.
be nice to have the sat and pressure images at mid day but here's 0900 for now.
you can make out the classic post cold front sunshine and showers, you can see the occluded front to the west of the low in the IR image - still dark in Scotland!
But whilst the low is very compact and tight on the sat image, it doesn't shout WINDY (to me) it's your pressure chart that makes you want to stay in port.
I spoke to Roy yesterday, he had his brother ( a spark) on board sorting out a few problems mainly electrical , low voltage etc and blown fuses, I doubt very much they will be out in this today, I was at Hull Marina yesterday not good conditions on the East Coast at all.
On the subject of Hull, the 100% propulsion price of diesel is 134p per litre!!! and thats for red. Ouch.
i got a text from roy late last night saying they were all good and another one this morning saying they were away but nothing since. they are not stupid so i am sure they will be ok, knowing roy either basking in sunshine and calm waters or sat in the pub with a curry!
I spoke to him at about 21.15. He is fine shaken but not stirred. He ordered a new anchor and chain and that arrived on time.
He said he had some good pix.
