Any thoughts, forumites, on using Preston Marina as a base for my little cuddy? All constructive views will be appreciated.

Mind you last time I looked around it, it did seem pretty central with plenty of facilities. I supposed it depend on what sort of cruising you want to do and how far you are prepaired to travel to get to your boat.

We live about three miles from Preston marina. The boats in Plymouth.

Only if he wants to wait 5 years for a berth and can put up with all the water fleas around Abersoch!
Have a look at Holyhead and don't listen to the "nar do's" about the place. All states and new facilities good staff........... well most of the time! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Why do you think there's a waiting list, but after this year i doubt its that long anyway.

Think you would be better in the Lakes or N, wales personally. What kind of boating are you gonna be doin ie water sports, fishing etc. ?

I considered a berth there (again) only to be told "there is a waiting list of five years for the marina sir"
I was in PWH for five years and it served me well at the time, now however, especially after suffering Abersoch last August Bank Holiday I wont go near the place!
I do have fond memories of the area which were tainted by the plethora of water fleas (PWCs) scooting around annoying everybody on the hook.
