Hi our water pump seems to cut in and out every 30 min with nothing being used is this normal

Nope, you probably have a small leak, drippy tap or some air in the pipes somewhere.

Check your pump is not letting pressure out of the system, diaphragm could be split/ perished

I had this with mine. I thought it was frost damage. It turned out to be an o ring that had hardened, and water was slowly seeping, causing the pump to repressurise every 15 or so minutes.

I've had this twice over the years. Both times, thought nothing of it, both times it was a tiny leak, second time it made a bit of a mess

Have you got an expansion tank in the system?This should help to regulate and prevent this from occurring.

so went the boat on Thursday to work out side ,it was raining so tackled fault above dcided to fit an iso on the hot coming out of the hot water tank to narrow down it did not stop so further investigation ,I found water dripping out of the hot tap in the heads when open ,so decided a mixer tap must be passing ,I chose the galley tap as used most .Fitted an is to the cold to the tap turned off and the fault was cured , then opened to see if it leaked again but no ,still ok ,so I think the iso must have reduced the pressure to the tap and stopped it passing ,so we will see how it goes but pleased with a full days work in the dry

So found the problem today ,the pressure relief valve was passing ,I’ll get a new one to save trying to seat valve ,only 13 Quid, hope this helps some one some time.SS

That’s exactly what happens to ours ,all do is turn it on and off ,the switch on ours is in the head so turn it on and off and tap the head on the hand rail and it fixes it , does it every year
