Press Stud Tool......

My wife previously broke both of her thumbs and therefore has a lot of trouble undoing and refixing the press studs (poppers) on our camper canvas. Does anyone know if there is a gadget on the market that is designed to help with this kind of problem?? Some of the poppers do seem a little stiff so can I also ask what people apply to ensure they operate with relative ease. Thanks in advance

Smear a teeny bit of vaseline on the 'male' bit of the popper.

I'm not aware of an attachment tool but there is certianly a detachment tool. Simple plastic wedge with a forked end. CJ Marine supplied one as a freebie, with their logo, when I got some covers off them. so I imagine they're reasonably widely availalbe?

I had one of THESE on our last boat which had press studs and it worked well, you coud probably make one yourself though.
