Prepay Sim for Eire for use in Ipad

Has anyone got any advice as to which the best prepay sim is for use in Eire (particularly the South coast) and how to obtain one in UK?
Off cruising and trying to get organised to obtain weather to whilst away.

My partner called into a local vodaphone shop and got a good roaming package for a month for a reasonable fee. Your best option might depend on usage amount and how long you intend to stay.
As for weather, Rte radio 1 and irish coastguard broadcast sea area forecast several times a day - it is very useful for Irish coastal waters. Details on met.ie or Irish met service

Meteor/eircom offer 7.5gigs for €20/ month pay as you go, it's the privatised version of the old state network like BT, so has the best coverage.

3 mobile are offering free roaming in Europe, but has terrible coverage and very slow download, i scrapped my old SIM card and got the meteor which operates at about 4mbs Or better all over ireland.

im sure all the competitors are going to offer free roaming very soon. ( end of month?)

3 mobile 4g coverage is virtually nonexistent except in the major cities.

check out meteor.ie they have good data plans. Go to shop on their website and select Tablets. It's about 10 euro for a the sim and it includes. A month of data

In our business, (in Dublin), we just changed all of our Mobiles, Landlines and Broadband over to Vodaphone. It was a total disaster. we were two days without Broadband, the new handsfree sets are still uninstalled, at least one Android faulty, lines cancelled, other lines connected to the wrong devices etc etc etc. and their reps repeatedly refuse to respond to communication attempts.
I'd stay away from them if I were you

uk 3 data PAYG sim 3gb over3 months,about 21quid. No roaming charges. Was over there in june, good coverage as well did kilmore quay to kinsale, never had any time without a good connection.

Another vote for 3. Free roaming in Eire, calls & data all included in my usual monthly allowance. Used it in May for a fortnight, excellent service.

i have tried all the networks & they are the most reliable, not the cheapest

You can check service coverage in a particular location using the Comreg website which shows each individual mast and which company is the operator.

Because they cover Eire (& France & other countries) within your normal calls & data allowance. ie NO ROAMING CHARGES.

The 3G coverage in Ireland puts UK coverage to shame. I've managed to get a cracking 3G signal in very small, out of the way, Irish harbours this year.

Contrast that with Dartmouth where I'm still hoping to get 1G, let alone 3, with Vodafone.
