Premier Marinas buy Noss on the Dart!

It will be interesting to see how things evolve there, but I understand the college is doing very well and that has to be really good news for local skills and ultimately jobs. Tourism too if they improve the berthing situation. A great location that has been under utilised for a very long time. It would be nice if they incorporated some facilities for the other moorings too, like Distin's & Green's etc as these aren't so easily accessible, but I guess parking would then be an issue. Another tender rack closer and affordable for locals would be good - although the water taxis might not agree!

I think with the economy the way it is and particularly property prices, that funding this type of project by residential development was inevitable. I think if that means the site gets investment for some jobs and trailing facilities however then it's probably good news? It will be interesting to see the plans when they materialise - in particular the 'sensitive residential development' aspects... I can see the downside being high-end property who's owners ultimately object to the noise and disruption of a working yard. I'm not sure they'll be able to segregate the two sufficiently on that site. The harbour apartments at Exmouth have had similar issues with owners trying to get the slipway closed and that type of problem needs to be avoided.
