Hi,
i have recently purchased a prelude 19 drop keel, the previous owner had done quite a bit of alteration work to the insides of the boat, and i now want to return it back to its original design, has anybody got any manuals ,drawings, old hidden plans deep in their loft , i would appreciate any help.

Sorry, I can't help with plans. But why go back to the original? I don't know what changes have been made to your boat or how well they were carried out but presumably they were done to try to improve some less than satisfactory aspects of the original design.

Have you thought instead about what further improvements could be made to make sailing the boat a more pleasurable experience for you? (Always remembering the "health warning" that any changes affecting, for example, the integrity or stability of the boat should be checked by a suitably qualified person.)

I believe this is a Ian proctor design and a predecessor of the pandora can't be sure though. They were, again just thinking, that they were made by Ridgeway marine who went on to make the Pegasus as previously mentioned. I remeber owning a Pandora many years ago and discussing the boat with a director who was very helpful in my enquiries.

Worth a try.

regards.

Hi,
I used to have a bilge keel Prelude a few years ago, what is it you want to know?. What things did the previous owner change, were the changes for the better or worse. I moved the mast step on mine, if the new owner had moved it back, he would have induced lee helm again.
Inside I altered the Bulkheads, due to rot at the bottoms.
Don't recall there being an owners association and Pegasus Yachts at Oulton Broad Suffolk only do repairs etc now. Previous owners of the yard have retired.
Was a nice little boat for two people, sailed like a dinghy, needs lots of concentration, take your eye off the ball and their away off track.

Ridgeway were based at Gt yarmouth when the Prelude and Pandora's were built.

The only other way would be to contact one of the two Ian Proctor sons who may have files of their father's designs?

Sorry I can't be of any great help. Good luck with your search.

Regards.

Peter.
