I was today working on the boat, sanding with wet or dry paper (600 grade) the dark blue paint on the cabin sides, the yacht painter is gonna put the final coat on on sat morning.

I was stood on a tressel (s?) which put me with the deck at about nipple height.

at a similar height, behind me, there was a scaffold pole which is part of the tent the boat is in, running along the side of the boat, now, being a clever *ucker (sometimes, and in this case, too clever for my own good) I thought, rather than get off the tressel and move it along and get back on, I could put one elbow on the deck, the other elbow on the scaffold pole and support my body (all 16 stone of it) and use my feet to pick up the tressel and move it along. So thats what I did.

CEPT.

THe tressel sort of fell out of my feet, leaving my dangling by my elbows, quite comfortable, but very stuck.

I was there quite sometime.

In the end, I sort of left my self fall, I now have very sore shoulders and arms and stiff joints pulled muscles/ligaments/tendons/other bits.

Oh. You can borrow Harry if you like. He's a bit booked up over Christmas and the new year. Well into January by all accounts. Also standing in for Green Godess towing duties.
But other than that he's free. Not sure about sandpapering abilities??

Stilts, No I'm serious. Painter friend of mine uses them. Strap them to the lower leg and you walk about at the right hight. That can be set by making them longer/shorter. Also seen ceiling fitters using them. Used on the continent quiet alot apparently. And you could always do a bit of busking as well in your lunch break.

yes stilts good idea. Cept for burgundyben, who praps might easily have got into a even more shit, another three feet further off the ground? Electrocuting the stilts, got one jammed down a hole, tried to drive home to save time, the list is endless!
