Pre-Trip Planning & Startup Checklists

New to boating and am looking for a good pre-trip planning & engine start-up clecklist. I have just purchased a Laguna 10m Motor Cruiser with twin Mermaid 300hp Turbo Plus diesels with stern drives. Any help gratefully received.

Have you done the one day Mermaid engine course, just superb about £85 but you get to work on your engine. They also give you a set of manuals for the engine. Course includes removing injectors and timing the pump. They also have an owners asso for £15 a year. Gets you lots of free advice when it goes pear shaped on a bank holiday weekend, yes they did answer the phone and solve my problem on a bank holiday /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Have joined the Mermaid Owners Club but not yet done the course. Was not aware it was available before Autumn so will follow up with Mermaid. Had planned to do a 1-2-1 for a couple of hours with Mermaid Engineer. Thanks
