I just got my VHF radio licence at the weekend after taking the one day course at Bisham Abbey Sailing School. Probably not an astounding feat, but for a nooby sea-dog I thought I'd write this anyway.

Just wanted to say that I was really impressed with the level of teaching (Tom) and will be heading back to do a few more courses there.

I can definitely recommend them, and further more its in a lovely setting, just next to Marlow, lots of country pubs nearby, so looking forward to heading back to do my Sea Survival course in March.

For anyone in or around London looking to do a RYA course, forget the smoke, 1 hours drive out and you'll be able to combine a days training course with a stroll by the river and a pint of ale. Bosh! :D

Agreed - it was about 10 years ago when I went through a whole load of courses to see whether 20 years of sailing left me with anything useful to learn. Of all the establishments Bisham Abbey was the most enjoyable and informative.
