I didn't go into this too much on the last post but another unfortunate side effect of my recent engine failure is that one of my drives is now decidely unhappy. I went over a fishing line in July and so have been expecting trouble. When we were back running with 2 engines the stbd one now doesn't like going full revs and was reluctant to go in gear, I assumed this is water in the oil again and have booked the lift out and seal replacement in October.
However after our run out on Saturday I'm not so sure, it seemed to behave fine going in and out of gear just 'slipped' whilst making an unpleasant noise when getting up on the plane. If I go full throttle on port and gently build up the stbd its ok.
This sort of feels like a bushed prop to me - the thing is I have powertech props on which don't have the rubber bush, so the question is: can these get bushed in the same way, even though they have ally hubs?
I suppose the thing to do is go down and swap the props round and see if it has the same effect on the other engine
