I have a 100 nm open water trip in front of me and I look forward to being out there in the open but no so much 4 hours or so listening to the engines rumbling. Usually get a bit "ear" tired after a few hours.
I really should have thought about it long before but better late than never.....tried my Bose Quietcomfort and wow, never thought they would make such a difference.
All the rumbling went away but I could still hear the VHF and the higher freq sounds from the engines and the sea albeit a reduced, it really changed the experience to a much more relaxed and sort of slow motion feel to it. A bit like like my sailing days
They don't work well if the wind blows around the earphones though, then they are like a bad microphone in the wind.
