I'm over the moon to learn my youngest lad wants to do a PB1 course sparked by our trip on the boat together last month and someone putting the idea in his head at the show..... Recommendations please, I want to catch his new found confidence and run with it. Ta v much

At age 12 he could go the full PB2 course . OK, the certificate is aged endorsed but at least hr will have the "full " qualification .

He could also do it on your boat. It will depend on his size though. But that will apply on any boat used by most schools .

Agree. Do not waste your money or time on a Level 1, at 12 he can, and would really enjoy a Level 2 and as said, it is the full cert once he reaches the age of 16.

I would however recommend that he does it on an other boat through a recognised school / club where he will get to try different boat types and meet others. You learn more when doing the course in a group.

thanks guys.... I was toying with the idea of putting him on the same course as his mum when she does her PB2 but thinking about it, it'd be better that he goes with a bunch of similar aged kids I reckon
